  • Do I need to pay a participation fee?
    Currently, no participation fee is required. However, sponsorship negotiations are ongoing, and if sufficient sponsorship is not secured, a participation fee may be requested.

  • Will transportation and accommodation be covered by the organization?
    Sponsorship negotiations are progressing positively, and it is expected that a portion of the accommodation and transportation costs will be covered by the conference. Additionally, priority will be given to PhD students and first-time attendees. However, if sufficient sponsorship cannot be secured, these expenses will be the responsibility of the participants.

  • Is the Congress limited to papers on the Ottoman Mediterranean?

While the primary theme of this edition of the Congress focuses on the Ottoman Mediterranean, submissions related to other aspects of Ottoman history will also be considered.

  • Is it possible to participate online?

The Congress is primarily designed for in-person participation, and as such, only physically present participants will be included in the program.

  • Can a paper be submitted without an accompanying presentation?

No, papers will only be accepted if they are presented at the Congress. Submitting a paper without delivering a presentation is not permitted.

  • Are both individual paper proposals and panel submissions accepted?

Yes, the Congress welcomes both individual paper proposals and panel submissions.

  • What are the acceptable languages for presentations?

Presentations may be delivered in Turkish, English, or Italian, regardless of whether they are individual papers or panel submissions.

  • Will the Congress proceedings be indexed in Web of Science (WOS)?

An application for indexing the Congress proceedings in Web of Science (WOS) will be submitted following the conclusion of the Congress.

  • Will the papers be published?

Papers that successfully pass peer review and meet academic standards will be published in peer-reviewed academic journals and edited volumes.

  • Can I deliver more than one presentation?

No, each participant is allowed to deliver only one presentation. However, it is possible to submit both an individual paper proposal and a panel proposal for consideration.
